From Animal welfare to Medical breakthroughs
Bioculture Group is a vertically integrated life sciences organization dedicated to bridging ethical animal care, advanced biomedical research, and global collaboration. Founded in 1985 as a family business, we have expanded our footprint across the United States through a portfolio of companies that contribute to medical breakthroughs across the biomedical research value chain.
Bioculture’s origins lie at the unique intersection of biodiversity and biomedical research. Recognizing that monkeys, an introduced species to Mauritius, constituted a threat to the endemic and endogenous biodiversity of the island, founders Mary-Ann and Owen Griffiths saw an opportunity to transform a challenge into a resource. Mary-Ann, a Mauritian microbiologist, and Owen, an Australian zoologist with a passion for conservation, drew on their collective expertise to set up the island’s first breeding facility.
At Bioculture, Care to Cure defines how we create impact. Our value-chain model connects ethical sourcing of Non-Human Primates (NHPs) with advanced biomedical and genetic research, enabling a continuum of quality, compliance, and innovation across our global network.
